I, Lee Ann George, owner and trainer, of See Spot Learn, have been married for 24 years, and have lived in Fair Oaks Ranch for 15 years. My husband, David, and I have four children, ages 14 through 23. We have three family dogs: an English Bulldog, a Neapolitan Mastiff, and an American Staffordshire Terrier. All three are rescued dogs.
As a member of the San Antonio Dog Training Club, I volunteered at the SPCA, Bexar County Humane Society. We were called upon to take in, and care for hundreds of animals evacuated during hurricanes Katrina and Rita. I mentored with Marlene Ring, CPDT, for one year, and completed a level I internship with Pat Miller in Maryland. I managed the doggie daycare at The Palms Pet Resort and Spa for 15 months. While working in the daycare, I temperament tested and became familiar with a wide range of dog breeds and personalities.
I am a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, a professional organization of individual trainers who are committed to becoming better trainers through education. My English Bulldog, Conrad and I are currently training for The Delta Society evaluation. Once passed, Conrad and I will be assigned to a hospital or nursing home in which we will visit on a regular basis. Visit deltasociety.org for more information.
